We live in such interesting times so I wanted to create a painting
that signifies hope and strength and we all have the ability to rise above to overcome our struggles.
Just like the lotus flower is one of the most beautiful nature’s creations it grows in muddy waters and doesn’t let it be affected by it’s living condition.
It symbolizes that no matter what we’re going through, we all have the ability to rise above, overcome our challenges and find peace within ourselves.

After my separation from twins sister at age of 4 , Gina was kept a secret from me.
Finding out later in my life about her existence it was shocking and amazing at the same time it took me a long time to comprehend the idea having an identical twin.
Throughout my life I always wished for a sister but subconsciously she was always part of me keeping her close to my heart through my art.

This is piece is very close to my heart, 10 years ago I made a conscious decision to become vegan for ethical reasons.
I’ve learned the impact raising animals for industrial meat, dairy and egg production has on our environment, animals and people.
August 2019 my twin sister came to visit me for the first time in Vancouver. Gina had so many first experiences here: first time having vegan sushi; first vegan Indian curry; first vegan tacos; she was amazed how delicious food can taste without animal products.
This series is a celebration of reunion, healing, and joy. In 2014, after both of my parents passed, I planned a surprise visit to my twin sister - 47 years apart, living on different continents. The moment we reunited in Brasov, Romania, her hometown, was deeply emotional and beautiful. This series reflects that joy - filled with vibrant colors and rich textures, capturing the happiness we both felt in finally being together again.

Wish You Were Here from my Reconnection Series is a deeply personal reflection on the longing and distance that followed my reunion with my twin sister after 47 years apart. Returning to Canada, I felt the weight of what I had been missing - her presence, our bond, the closeness we never had the chance to grow. As time passed, that longing only deepened. There isn’t a day that I don’t wish she were near. This painting captures that ache, a visual expression of love, separation, and the unbreakable connection we share.

This portrait of my sister Gina is a reflection of our lost time and unbreakable bond. Throughout my art, I’ve often painted women with short hair, never knowing why - until I learned that when we were separated at age four, we both had bob haircuts. In this series, I embrace a childlike perspective, painting her as I remember seeing her at that age, capturing the innocence of our connection before life pulled us apart.

Summer at the Black Sea is a tribute to my childhood memories of beach days with my mother. I remember the freedom and confidence of women, comfortably topless, embracing their bodies without judgment. Growing up in a modest culture, this left a lasting impression - body acceptance in all shapes and sizes. This painting captures that carefree spirit and the beauty of self-acceptance. All artwork from this series was created with a childlike approach, painting from memory and intuition, allowing those early impressions to come to life.

Melancholia reflects a lifelong sadness I could never explain. I was always drawn to painting the female figure, unaware that I was searching for something lost. When my parents revealed I was adopted and had an identical twin, the shock was overwhelming. It answered so much but left me grieving the years stolen from us. My sister was kept from me on purpose, and that pain still lingers. This painting holds that sorrow - the weight of absence, the longing for what could have been.

Adoration is more than just a statement piece - a story of separation, longing, and resilience. One figure is fully clothed, grounded in knowledge, while the other is exposed, left in the dark. This mirrors my twin’s reality - she always knew about me, but I was kept unaware. She carried the weight of our separation, longing for a connection that felt just out of reach, especially with an ocean between us. This painting is an invitation to own a piece of raw, emotional storytelling. For the art collector, it’s not just about the visual impact - about the depth of human connection and the resilience of the human spirit.
